- Free and Secure Trade (FAST) pilot to improve trade. Canada said that as part of the Beyond Borders Action Plan to enhance the benefits of a trusted trade program that will help members move goods efficiently and securely across the border it has launched the FAST program pilot expansion at the Blue Water Bridge in Sarnia, Ontario. FAST will allow trusted traders to use the FAST lanes/booths without having to be members. (here)
- New import requirements for aquatic animals. The CBSA issued a notice to importers, customs brokers and service providers that the CFIA amended the Health of Animals Regulations for the importation of aquatic animals that will take effect December 10, 2011. (here)
- CBSA border email alerts. The CBSA said it's implementing an email border alert service to notify clients when unexpected events cause significant disruptions to normal border services. (here)
- Importing of foie gras pate. The CBSA is reminding visitors and returning Canadian residents to Canada from the Pierre et Miquelon of the import requirements for foie gras pate. (here)
- CFIA reinstates operations at Establishment 231, Capital Packers Inc. The CFIA said that following additional food safety testing and a thorough food safety investigation it lifted the suspension on Establishment 231, Capital Packers Inc.’s operating license. (here)
