The investigation is based on a complaint filed by Google-owned Motorola Mobility, Motorola Mobility Ireland of Bermuda, and Motorola Mobility International of Bermuda, on Aug. 17. The complaint alleges violations of section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 in the import into the U.S. and sale of wireless communication devices, portable music and data processing devices, computers, and components thereof that infringe patents asserted by the complainants. The complainants asked the ITC to issue an exclusion order and a cease and desist order.
The ITC has identified Apple as the sole respondent in this investigation.
