Canadian Government Notices for June 29

- Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) Pilot Program. The CBSA on June 29, 2012 will start taking applications for the AVRR pilot program in the Greater Toronto area and will be available to individuals in the current asylum system, as well as the new asylum program. The pilot program will allow eligible unsuccessful refugee claimants who wish to return to their home country voluntarily. (here)
- Bottled Water Testing. The CFIA on June 28, 2012 tested 300 samples of domestic and imported bottled water products and found that 100% of the tests came back positive for the toxin known as microcystins but meeting Health Canada Standards. (here)
- Imported Food Regulations. The CFIA announced plans to develop new regulations that would require food importers to be licensed and have measures in place to keep unsafe food out of the marketplace. Consultations on a user fee proposal for the licensing cost will be from April 20 to June 29, 2012. (here)
- China seamless carbon or alloy steel. The CITT has initiated an expiry review of its finding made on March 10, 2008 concerning the dumping and subsidizing of seamless carbon or alloy steel originating in or exported from China. (here)
