ITC Receives Electric Fireplace Patent Complaint Against 3 Firms
The International Trade Commission has received a patent complaint filed on behalf of Twin-Star International, Inc., and TS Investment Holding Corp, which alleges violations of Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 in the importation into the U.S., the sale for importation, and the sale within the U.S. after importation of certain electric fireplaces, components thereof, and manuals for same, processes for manufacturing or relating to same, and products containing same. The next step is for the ITC to vote on whether to institute a patent investigation that could result in various settlement agreements with the named respondents and/or an exclusion order and/or a cease and desist order.

The complaint names the following three companies as respondents:
- Shenzhen Reliap Industrial Co. of China;
- Yue Qiu Sheng (a/k/a Jason Yue) of China; and
- Whalen Furniture Manufacturing Inc. of San Diego, CA.
