Video Properties, Inc., Gemstar Development Corporation) and Index System Inc., which alleges violations of Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 in the importation into the U.S., the sale for importation, and the sale within the U.S. after importation of certain products containing interactive program guide and parental controls technology. The next step is for the ITC to vote on whether to institute a patent investigation that could result in various settlement agreements with the named respondents and/or an exclusion order and/or a cease and desist order. The complaint names Vizio, Inc. of Irvine, CA; Haier Group Corp. of China; and Haier America Trading, LLC of New York, NY, as respondents.
