ITA/ITC Initiate Sunset Review to Consider Revoking Silicon Metal, SS Butt-Weld Pipe Fittings AD Orders

The International Trade Administration and International Trade Commission are initiating an automatic five-year sunset review to consider revoking the antidumping duty orders on silicon metal from China (A-570-806) and stainless steel butt-weld pipe fittings from Italy (A-475-828), Malaysia (A-557-809), and the Philippines (A-565-801).

These sunset reviews have short deadlines for participants, with some as short as 10 days after the date of initiation. The orders will be revoked unless the ITA finds that revocation would lead to a continuation or recurrence of dumping and the ITC finds that revocation would result in continuation or recurrence of material injury to U.S. industry. As a result, a negative determination by either the ITA or ITC would result in the revocation of the order.

(See ITA and ITC notices for additional details, including the due dates for participants and the ITA and ITC contact parties for the orders. See ITT's Online Archives 11100401 for summary of ITA's advance notice of this ITA/ITC November 1, 2011 sunset review.)
