CONECT Northeast Cargo Symposium to Be Held Nov 3
The Coalition of New England Companies for Trade (CONECT) will be hosting its 10th Annual Northeast Cargo Symposium on November 3, 2011 in Foxboro, Massachusetts. The Symposium will feature the following three panels of presentations:

Panel One - Transportation: Ocean Trade Update. Speakers during this panel will present on (1) "Panama Canal and its Impact on U.S. Ports"; (2) "The Clock is Ticking as Carriers Continue to Burn Cash"; and (3) "Challenges and Opportunities for the Ocean Carrier Industry."
Panel Two - CBP Update from Headquarters. This panel will feature presentations from U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials on (1) How Businesses Will Be Impacted by the Opportunities and Challenges of New CBP Programs (such as simplified entry and duty payment, the simplified cargo release pilot, broker revision project, Centers of Excellence and Expertise, new FTAs, etc.); and (2) an update on the Air Cargo Advance Screening (ACAS) Advanced Data Filing for Import Air Cargo.
Panel Three - Supply Chain Security. Speakers during this panel will present on (1) Supply Chain Resiliency and (2) Cargo Loss Control and Risk Management.
