On October 14, 2011, U.S. Customs and Border Protection issued its September-October 2011 ACE Trade Account Owner (TAO) Update. The TAO provides an update on participation in CBP's Simplified Entry pilot, access to DIS and PGA Message Set, ISF Progress Reports, and tips for running the ACE courtesy notice of liquidation report, and a recap of various recent ACE updates.

The following are topics covered in the September-October TAO Update:
- Simplified Entry pilot for C-TPAT Tier 2 & above. Initial participation for CBP's Simplified Entry test will be open to Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) Tier 2 and above. The TAO lists twelve data elements that satisfy security and trade concerns for Simplified Entry. The first iteration would be for ACE entry summaries types 01 and 11 filed under a continuous bond with no other government requirements associated with the entry and no in-bond movements. (See ITT's Online Archives 11100510 and 11100410 for BP summaries of CBP stating it expects to have the initial simplified entry pilot up and running by the end of 2011 and of CBP's workgroup proposing the twelve data elements for simplified entry.)
- ACE only access to DIS & PGA Message Set. Access to Document Image System (DIS) and Participating Government Agency (PGA) Message Set will be available to ACE entry summary filers and ACE entry summaries only. (See today's issue of ITT 11101720 for BP summary.)
- Emailed ISF Progress Reports to end. CBP will no longer email Importer Security Filing (ISF) Progress Reports after the December 2011 reports are sent. (See today's issue of ITT 11101719 for BP summary.)
- Tips on running courtesy liq reports. The TAO provides tips on using the courtesy notice of liquidation features in ACE, including on: (i) running the AM-100 report; (ii) modifying aggregate and detail entry summary reports; and (iii) creating a report from scratch using the liquidation header details report.
- Various recent ACE updates. The TAO recaps various recent ACE updates, including: the availability of the Entry Bank User Guide and removal of the Shared Reports folder. Other updates include the posting of the Trade Support Network's September plenary presentations; new trade outreach webinars, etc.
