CPSC Publishes $45K Drawstring Settlement with CVS for Comment
The Consumer Product Safety Commission has published its provisional settlement agreement with CVS Pharmacy, Inc. in the Federal Register for comment. In the agreement, CPSC staff alleges that the company “knowingly” failed to immediately report that it had sold children’s hooded jackets with drawstrings which later became the subject of a voluntary recall.

If CPSC does not receive a written request not to accept the settlement agreement (which includes a civil penalty of $45,000) by August 25, 2011, it shall be deemed finally accepted on August 26, 2011.
