Updated e-Manifest: Ocean and Rail Implementation Guidelines Posted
U.S. Customs and Border Protection has posted revised version of its ACE e-Manifest: Ocean and Rail (M1) guidelines. According to a CSMS message, the changes made are minor and include further clarification to some text contained within a few data elements, as well as updates to the Appendices.

(CBP recently stated that M1 trade testing began on May 2nd and is going well. Once the early adopters are successfully tested, CBP will open testing to additional members of the trade. Trade testing will continue through September, and if it has been successful, CBP will then begin rolling out the M1 pilot on a port-by-port basis. CBP previously stated that it hoped to begin the rollout of the M1 pilot later this year, and complete the process in January 2012.
