ITC Requests Public Interest Comments on Samsung Flash Memory Patent Investigation
The International Trade Commission is requesting comments on public interest issues regarding its section 337 patent-based investigation of certain flash memory and products containing the same (GPS devices, routers, and network storage products that contain flash memory chips), which was based on a complaint filed by Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. of Korea against 12 respondents. Comments should address whether issuance of an exclusion order and/or a cease and desist order would negatively affect the public health and welfare in the U.S., competitive conditions in the U.S. economy, the production of like or directly competitive articles in the U.S., or U.S. consumers. Comments are due by April 4, 2011.
