CBP Posts Revised Draft M1 Implementation Guidelines

CBP has posted certain revised draft Implementation Guidelines (IGs) for the ACE deployment of e-Manifest: Ocean and Rail (M1).

The revised IGs that have been posted are as follows (see website for full list of updated chapters and appendices):

  • ACE Ocean Manifest Chapter on Permit to Transfer (available here)
  • ACE Ocean Manifest Chapter on Status Notification (available here)
  • ACE Ocean Appendix D -- Disposition Codes (available here)

At this time, CBP states that it is not anticipated that additional changes will be made to the Implementation Guidelines prior to trade testing.

(CBP has previously announced that it plans to pilot M1 in February 2011 and deploy it in Spring 2011. However, CBP has recently stated that the M1 pilot is on hold due to contractor issues.
