No ABI Filers Have Applied for M1 Pilot

One of the categories for MI pilot participation is ABI (Automated Broker Interface) participants. CBP states that it has not yet heard from any of the ABI filers, and encourages anyone who is an ABI filer to apply to participate.

CBP has previously stated that it plans to pilot M1 in February 2011 and deploy it in spring 2011. (See ITT’s Online Archives or 11/18/10 news, 10111820, for recent BP summary. See ITT’s Online Archives or 10/20/10 news, 10102007, for BP summary of CBP’s notice on applying to participate in the M1 pilot.)

M1 to Offer New MMM Reports That Will be Updated Every Two Hours

With the deployment of e-Manifest: Ocean and Rail (M1), the TAO Update states that new Multi-Modal Manifest (MMM) Reports will be available to the trade community that refresh every two hours.

The two hour refresh reports will include manifest data that has been created or changed within the past two hours. They will contain data for the last 30 days only, and will display all versions of the bills of lading.

The two hour refresh reports for brokers include:

  • MMM 9009 In-Bond Detail
  • MMM 9016 Equipment Detail
  • MMM 9017 Manifest Detail
  • MMM 9021 BOL Detail
  • MMM 9022 BOL Status
  • MMM 9023 Commercial Party

The two hour refresh reports for importers include:

  • MMM 9022 BOL Status

These will be in addition to the manifest reports that refresh every 24 hours.

(Note that this ITT summary highlights information in the November 2010 TAO Update not previously covered in ITT (much of the TAO Update recaps on a monthly basis earlier CBP issuances))

Among other things, the November 2010 TAO update covers the ability under M1 for rail, ocean and truck carriers to designate trade partners that are authorized to use their type 2 custodial bond; an ACE Reports tip on sorting multiple HTS numbers reported on one line item using ESM 7008; CBP's posting of its ITDS ConOps, etc.
