$10 service but didn’t block a customer’s name “from showing up as an associate of someone else” in a search for that person’s name. The company also failed to prevent information from appearing in a reverse search of a customer’s phone number or address, the FTC said. The settlement bars US Search from “misrepresenting the effectiveness of their Privacy Lock Service” or any other service allowing customers to remove their information from search results.
