1. Registration for 2010 C-TPAT Seminar is Closed

2. ACE Outage Scheduled for This Weekend for ESAR III Deployment

CBP has issued a CSMS message announcing that in order to deploy ESAR III capabilities (also referred to as ESAR A2.3.1a), ACE will experience an extended outage this weekend. The outage will begin at 10:00 p.m. EST on Saturday, January 16, 2010 until 7:00 a.m. EST on Sunday, January 17, 2010. CBP requests that all ACE Entry Summary filers cease filing AE transactions at 9:00 p.m. EST on Saturday, January 16, 2010. CBP does not anticipate the interruption of the filing of ACE Truck Manifest data beyond the normal maintenance window. A CSMS Message will be issued as soon as the deployment is concluded and ACE is available. 3. Jan 14th Opening of 180-Day Special Import Quota for Upland Cotton

CBP has issued a memorandum announcing a special import quota of 13,728,119 kg for upland cotton that is provided for in HTS Chapter 99, Subchapter III, U.S. Note 6 and is entered under HTS 9903.52.79. (CBP notes that this quantity is not subject to the TRQs in Chapter 52 Additional U.S. Notes 5 through 10.) The quota period is January 14, - July 12, 2010. To be counted under this quota, the cotton must be imported during this period and purchased not later than April 13, 2010. The opening date is January 14, 2010.
