Update on CBP's 10th Annual Trade Symposium & Live Webcast
U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued a notice providing additional details on the 10th annual trade symposium, which will be held on December 8 - 10, 2009 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, in Washington, DC.

The theme for this year's trade symposium is "10 Year Anniversary: A Decade of Progress in Partnership." The symposium will feature panel discussions involving agency personnel, members of the trade community and other government agencies, on the agency's role in international trade initiatives and programs.
Symposium Topics Include ACE, 10+2, Trade Policy, IPR, Etc.

Break-Out Sessions May be Held on ISAs, C-TPAT, Etc.
CBP plans to hold break-out sessions during the symposium. Onsite participants are requested to identify in the registration their top three preferred break-out sessions. The listing of break-out sessions being offered is provided below, but CBP notes that some may not be offered if there is insufficient interest:

CBP to Offer Webcast of the Symposium for $35, Registration Opens Soon
CBP is offering participation via a live webcast, whereby participants may view and interactively participate in the trade symposium online. The cost for the trade symposium participation via the live webcasting is $35. Registration for participation via the web will be opened in the near future.
CBP sources state that they expect some of the breakout sessions to be offered via the live webcast and the others to be made available "on-demand" (see below).
Cost to Attend Onsite is $290/Person, Registration Opens October 1st
The cost for onsite participation is $290 per person. CBP anticipates that on-line registration for onsite participation will open on October 1, 2009, at 12:00 p.m. eastern time. For onsite participation, registrations will be processed on a first come, first served basis.
All registrations must be made on-line at the CBP website (www.cbp.gov) and payment will only be accepted by credit card. All requests for cancellations/refunds must be submitted through the form provided on CBP's website and received no later than November 20, 2009.
CBP to Have 30-Day "On-Demand" Access to Symposium Videos
As a complimentary feature, participants who pay to attend the trade symposium onsite or via the live webcast will also be provided with a 30-day on-demand access via the Internet free of charge.
