(CBP recently announced that it had completed second versions of the ACE Portal Reports Dictionaries. Note that CBP previously posted dictionaries for importers, brokers, carriers, and participating government agencies. The PGAs dictionary is no longer available on CBP's website.)
Dictionaries are Reference Guides
The dictionaries are a reference guide of the most frequently accessed Account Profile, Account Management and Transactions reports designed to enhance the understanding of reports for ACE users, to assist in identifying the report that best fulfills a particular business need, and to encourage the overall use of the reporting tool.
The dictionaries define each report and its corresponding data objects, making it easier for ACE users to identify specific reports to meet their data requirements. The dictionaries also provide the exact location of each report in the ACE reporting tool, the categorical classification of each report, the standard report filters/prompts and a description of each data object contained in the report.
Dictionaries Contain New Section
According to a CBP CSMS message, users will find that the dictionaries can be used in two different ways based on the information contained in each section. The first section defines reports and applicable data objects listed for each report - this section is ideal for first-time or novice users who need guidance in determining which report to use.
The second section is new with this update and is similar to a dictionary in that it provides a list of the data objects by location and their associated definitions. This second section is for more experienced users who are familiar with the reports and the data objects they need but need guidance as to where the data objects are located in the reporting tool.
CBP notes that this iteration of the dictionaries does not include ESAR A2.2 Reports.
Any comments or suggestions on the dictionaries can be sent to FoundationBusinessOutcomes@cbp.dhs.gov.
