The House Rules Committee has posted to its Web site a list of amendments that have been offered for the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 (ACES). Sources have previously indicated that the House is expected to begin consideration of ACES on June 26, 2009.
DOT Program Stimulus Funding Oversight Hearing Held
On June 25, 2009, the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee held the second in an ongoing series of oversight hearings on projects funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The hearing focused on programs under the jurisdiction of the Department of Transportation.

Congressional Letter on Administration's Proposal to Extend Surface Transportation Programs for 18 Months Sent to President
On June 24, 2009, Democratic members of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee sent a letter to the President expressing disappointment in the Administration's proposal to extend the current surface transportation programs for 18 months (through March 31, 2011). The letter notes that a surface transportation authorization bill has already started moving through the Committee.
Letter to TSA on Clear Registered Traveler Program Sent by House Homeland Security Committee
On June 25, 2009, House Homeland Security Committee Chairman and Transportation Security Infrastructure Protection and Oversight Subcommittee Chairmen sent a letter to the Acting Assistant Security of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regarding cessation of the Clear Registered Traveler program, the handling of personal information by the company that manages it, and TSA's involvement.
