Additional Bond Insufficiency Details Added to ACE Bond Sufficiency Details Portlet

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued a CSMS message announcing that it has added additional information to the ACE "Bond Sufficiency Details" portlet.

Insufficiency Reasons Will Now be Displayed

If the bond is insufficient the portlet will now display the "Insufficiency Reason." In addition, a "Comment" field has been provided.

Prior to this, the only way the trade community could learn why a particular bond was insufficient was if they communicated directly with the knowledgeable CBP office/officer.

Functionality Provides Immediate, Detailed Info on Why Bond is Rendered Insufficient

This functionality will provide immediate, detailed information as to why a bond has been rendered insufficient.

Insufficiency reasons are as follows:

Bond Liability Amount Must Be Increased - Import Volume

Bond Liability Amount Must Be Increased - Outstanding Debt

Bond Liability Amount Must Be Increased - Passenger/Railcar Fees

Address Incorrect - Mail Being Returned as "Undeliverable"

Debit Vouchers Associated with a Party on the Bond

Invalid Termination Request Filed w/CBP

Required Documentation Missing

Invalid EIN Listed on the Bond

Failure to Deposit Required Cash-in-Lieu of Surety
