CBP Issues New ICP on Locks of Base Metal

This publication was prepared by the National Commodity Specialist Division of Regulations and Rulings and it provides guidance regarding the tariff classification of base metal locks, parts thereof and keys. It also identifies the country of origin marking requirements applicable to keys.

(A lock is a mechanical fastening device that functions to restrict access to an enclosed area or to secure a possession. Locks of base metal are classified in HTS Heading 8301.)
