Update on CBP's First Annual C-TPAT Northern Border Highway Conference
U.S. Customs and Border Protection will hold the first annual Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism Northern Border Highway Carrier Conference on August 19, 2009 in Buffalo, NY.

On the evening before the conference, August 18, 2009, pre-registration/check-in will be held from 4 - 6 p.m., followed by an open house from 6 - 8 p.m. where supply chain security specialists and directors of the Buffalo, NY; Washington, DC; Houston, TX C-TPAT field offices as well as program personnel from Canada's Border Services Agencies (CBSA) Partners in Protection (PIP) program will be available to answer questions and provide comment on C-TPAT and PIP program issues.

Registration for this event opened on June 1, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. EST. There is no registration fee for this conference; however, space is limited to approximately 500 participants.
Attendees will be selected on a first come first serve basis and as well as on the companies C-TPAT membership status. Attendance is limited to a maximum of two people per C-TPAT certified highway carrier.

Conference is Geared Specifically Towards North Border Carrier Issues
CBP states that its conference will differ from the annual C-TPAT Symposium in that it will be geared specifically towards the Northern border highway carrier community and the issues/concerns it faces, such as FAST, sealing, ACE e-Manifest, highway carrier minimum-security criteria, validation and revalidation of a highway carrier, ACE portal use, PIP/C-TPAT activities, etc.
