CBP CSMS Messages and Web Postings

1. 102 Penalty Mitigation Guidelines Under Legal Review, Expected Soon

2. ABI/ACS Prior Notice Processing Restored

CBP has issued a CSMS message announcing that it has restored ABI/ACS prior notice processing. CBP previously issued a CSMS message stating that it was experiencing a system problem which prevented submitters who filed PN via ABI/ACS from receiving PN confirmation and prevented CBP from auto-checking the PN confirmation for ABI/ACS filers. CBP states that transaction backlog resulting from the outage will process normally, and asks the trade not to resubmit PN filings. (CSMS messages, hyperlinked, 09-000236 and 09-000235)

3. CBP Updates ACE "Topic" Document on Forms

CBP has issued a CSMS message containing an attachment with an updated version of its ACE "Topic" document on receiving and responding to CBP forms. According to CBP, the document was revised to reflect new functionality available to all brokers with ACE Portal accounts. Brokers are now able to respond to CBP for a post summary request for "documents required" through the broker's ACE Portal account. 4. CBP Officials Testify on Border Security

CBP has posted a transcript of testimony given by Assistant Commissioner Winkowski and Border Patrol Chief Aguilar before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Subcommittee on Immigration, Refugees and Border Security. CBP's Office of Information and Technology has posted an updated list of companies/persons offering data processing services to the trade community for the Automated Broker Interface. 8. CBP Messages on AD and CV Duty Actions

The antidumping and countervailing messages CBP issues on behalf of the International Trade Administration are now only available on CBP's Web site at http://addcvd.cbp.gov. AD and CV ABI administrative messages are no longer issued.
