CBP CSMS Messages and Web Postings

CBP has issued a CSMS message stating that on May 27, 2009, CBP will begin sending two new disposition codes related to Importer Security Filings (ISF) associated to bills of lading when information is requested by an ABI filer for an ocean AMS bill of lading using the IN Cargo/Manifest Status Query. The new disposition codes will be added to Appendix N in the CATAIR. 2. Issuer Code of House Bill Number Added to IN Status Query

CBP has issued a CSMS message stating that the issuer code of house bill number has been added to the IN Cargo/Manifest Status Query. This field has been added to the Record Identifier R4 output record. 3. May 21st Opening of 180-Day Special Import Quota for Upland Cotton

CBP has posted a memorandum announcing a special import quota of 13,711,541 kg for upland cotton that is provided for in HTS Chapter 99, Subchapter III, U.S. Note 6 and is entered under HTS 9903.52.50. (CBP notes that this quantity is not subject to the tariff rate quotas in Chapter 52 Additional U.S. Notes 5 through 10.)

The quota period is May 21 - November 16, 2009; to be counted under this quota, the cotton must be imported during this period and purchased not later than August 18, 2009. 4. Updated TRQ/TPL "Threshold to Fill" List

CBP has posted an updated version of its tariff rate quota/tariff preference level "threshold to fill" list, a quick reference to monitor TRQs and TPLs that are approaching the restraint limit or have filled the in-quota (low) rate. The list is divided into two sections - those that are at least 85% filled and those that are closed. 6. CBP Messages on AD and CV Duty Actions

The antidumping and countervailing messages CBP issues on behalf of the International Trade Administration are now only available on CBP's Web site at http://addcvd.cbp.gov. AD and CV ABI administrative messages are no longer issued.
