CBP Updates ACE Entry Summary Deployment Schedule

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued a CSMS providing an updated ACE entry summary filing deployment schedule.

(ACE entry summary filing capabilities were delivered with ESAR A2.2 and were first deployed at the Port of Buffalo. CBP's three-phase deployment schedule for ACE entry summary capabilities is limited to the 39 volunteers that responded to CBP's original request for comments and indication of interest to participate in the entry summary test. After these three phases are completed, CBP will allow additional entry filers to submit ACE entry summaries.

ESAR A2.2 allows for the filing and processing of formal (type 01) and informal (type 11) entry summaries for those who volunteered to submit such entry summaries in ACE. It also included certain portal account changes for all ACE accounts.)

Phase 2 to be Delivered in Smaller Groups Beginning on May 18th

Phase 2, which originally included the May 18, 2009 deployment of ACE entry summary filing capabilities to 17 ports, has been broken down into smaller groups and is scheduled to be deployed as follows:

On May 18, 2009, ACE entry summary filing is scheduled to be deployed at the following ports:

Houston, TXBoston, MABaltimore, MD
San Francisco, CANewark, NJDetroit, MI
El Paso, TXJFK Airport, NYAtlanta, GA

On May 26, 2009, ACE entry summary filing is scheduled to be deployed at the following ports:

Miami, FLSeattle, WATampa, FL
New Orleans, LASan Diego, CATucson, AZ

The final two ports will be deployed in June 2009 (the day will be announced in the future):

Philadelphia, PACleveland, OH

Phase 3 and Additional Entry Summary Filers Dates Remain Unchanged

According to CBP sources, Phase 3 (nationwide deployment to all remaining ports) is still scheduled for June 18, 2009.

CBP sources add that additional entry filers are still scheduled to be permitted to transmit ACE entry summaries beginning on June 29, 2009. Those interested should contact their ABI Client Representative.

ACE is expected to support type 01 and 11 ACE entry summaries filed through remote location filing (RLF) by June 29, 2009.
