CBP CSMS Messages and Web Postings

CBP has issued a CSMS message stating that the Chicago Trade Support Office will be closed on Tuesday, May 12, 2009. 2. DHS, CBP Say WHTI is on Time, on Budget, and on Track for June 1 Implementation

CBP has posted a joint statement by Department of Homeland Security Acting Assistant Secretary for Policy Barth and CBP Office of Field Operations Assistant Commissioner Winkowski on the implementation of the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative. Among other things, the statement reads that WHTI is on time, on budget, and on track to complete implementation at the land and sea ports of entry on June 1, 2009. 3. Neche Port of Entry Reopens

CBP has issued a news release announcing the reopening of the Neche Port of Entry, ND on Friday, May 8, 2009 for all motorists traveling across the border on State Highway 18. 6. FAST Drivers Must Use Proximity Card Number for e-Manifests

CBP has issued a CSMS message stating that all drivers approved for participation in the Free and Secure Trade (FAST) program must be identified in ACE e-Manifest data by their FAST proximity card numbers. 7. Warning Messages Sent for e-Manifests Submitted Without WHTI Docs

CBP has issued a CSMS message stating that as of April 26, 2009, ACE has been generating warning messages regarding the upcoming June 1st requirement to report an appropriate Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI) compliant travel document for truck e-Manifests. In addition, a warning message is being generated when a country of citizenship is not on file in ACE for a truck driver or crew member.

The new status codes are SUV (ANSI X.12) or SN120 (UN/EDIFACT) or "Drv Acct No WHTI Doc" (ACE Secure Data portal) and STV (ANSI X.12) or SN119 (UN/EDIFACT) or "Drv Acct No Citznshp" (ACE Secure Data portal). Note that as of June 1, 2009, electronic truck manifests submitted via ACE without approved WHTI documents for truck drivers will be rejected. 8. Bond Processing Statistics as of May 11th

CBP has posted updated bond processing statistics that provide information regarding the estimated processing times for bond applications, etc. as of May 11, 2009.
