5th Day of Hearings to be Held on Draft Clean Energy Legislation (Subcommittee Mark Up Expected Soon)
In response to a request from the Ranking Members1 of the House Energy and Commerce Committee and its Energy and Environment Subcommittee, Committee Chair Waxman (D) and Subcommittee Chair Markey (D) sent a letter in which they announced that there will be an additional day of hearings on the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 (ACES) discussion draft on May 1, 2009.

The letter notes that the House Energy and Commerce Committee held over 40 days of hearings on energy and climate change policy over the last two Congresses, including a four-day series of hearings on the ACES discussion draft on April 21-24, 2009.
Subcommittee Markup of ACES Expected During Week of May 4, 2009
According to a House Energy and Commerce Committee memorandum, an Energy and Environment Subcommittee mark up of ACES will be scheduled for the week of May 4, 2009, the exact date to be announced later.
