5. Chicago CBP Seizes $1.3 Million in Counterfeit Designer Handbags, Etc.
CBP has issued a press release announcing that import specialists at Chicago O'Hare International Airport seized a large shipment of counterfeit merchandise on April 21, 2009. The shipment en route from Hong Kong to Toronto contained more than 2,000 items, included wallets, handbags, purses and tote bags with protected trademarks and a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price value of more than $1.3 million and a domestic value of more than $300,000. 6. Updated TRQ/TPL "Threshold to Fill" List
CBP has posted an updated version of its TRQ/TPL "threshold to fill" list, a quick reference to monitor TRQs and TPLs that are approaching the restraint limit or have filled the in-quota (low) rate. The list, which was updated April 22, 2009, is divided into two sections - those that are at least 85% filled and those that are closed.
