CBP CSMS Messages and Web Postings

On May 12, 2009, CBP will be hosting an ACE Seminar in Chicago, IL to educate the international trade community on the benefits of ACE and its impact to their business operations. CBP speakers will discuss Periodic Monthly Statement, manifest and entry filing. Representatives from the ACE Account Service Desk will provide a demonstration on how to use ACE reports and will provide tips for creating customized reports. The afternoon session will focus on using the ACE reports tool. 2. Weekly TRQ/TPL Commodity Report as of April 20th

CBP has issued its weekly tariff rate quota (TRQ) and tariff preference level (TPL) commodity report as of April 20, 2009. This report includes TRQs on various products such as beef, sugar, dairy products, peanuts, cotton, cocoa products, tobacco, certain BFTA, DR-CAFTA, Israel FTA, JFTA, MFTA, OFTA, SFTA, UAFTA (AFTA) and UCFTA (Chile FTA) non-textile TRQs, etc. Each report also includes the AGOA, ATPDEA, BFTA, DR-CAFTA, CBTPA, Haitian HOPE, MFTA, NAFTA, OFTA, SFTA, and UCFTA TPLs and TRQs for qualifying apparel and/or other textile articles, the TRQs on worsted wool fabrics, etc. (Weekly commodity report available at http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/trade/trade_programs/textiles_and_quotas/commodity/)

3. Updated TRQ/TPL "Threshold to Fill" List

CBP has posted an updated version of its TRQ/TPL "threshold to fill" list, a quick reference to monitor TRQs and TPLs that are approaching the restraint limit or have filled the in-quota (low) rate. The list is divided into two sections - those that are at least 85% filled and those that are closed. 4. Updated CF 1400, CF 1401 Posted

CBP has posted an updated version of its CF 1400 (Record of Vessel in Foreign Trade Entrances) - an electronic query report for CF 1400 of the Vessel Management System (VMS), in accordance with 19 CFR 4.95, organized by entrances. CBP has also posted an updated CF 1401 (Record of Vessel in Foreign Trade Clearances) - an electronic query report for CF1401 of the VMS, in accordance with 19 CFR 4.95, organized by clearances. 5. Foreign Currency Exchange Rate Multipliers for Week Ending 04/17

6. Rerouting of Traffic at Neche Port of Entry

CBP is advising the traveling public that all commercial and passenger vehicle traffic traveling through the Neche port of entry will now have to use an alternate route. Commercial and passenger vehicle traffic can utilize the ports of Pembina, N.D., to the east of Neche and Walhalla, N.D., which is west of the Neche port of entry, as an alternate travel route. CBP has also posted a Unified Business Resumption Message regarding the flooding at Neche which stated that the Neche port of entry remains closed as a result of highway closures due to flooding. 7. CBP to Deactivate Older NEXUS Cards on May 1, 2009

CBP has announced it will cancel old NEXUS cards for current NEXUS members on May 1, 2009. All members must activate their new cards within 30 days, verify and update their U.S. mailing address by going to the Global Online Enrollment System page on the CBP Web site.
