CBP CSMS Messages and Web Postings

CBP has posted to its Web site an additional Importer Security Filing (ISF) transaction set. CBP has also issued a CSMS message announcing changes to a record within another ISF transaction set.

1. CBP Posts New, Updates Another Importer Security Filing Transaction Set

New transaction set to be revised. The new transaction set, Application Control - CAMIR Intermodal, defines the applications requirements, transaction file sequencing rules and record data element format and requirements. CBP sources state that there are errors in this transaction set and a revised version is expected to be posted soon.

Updated record within transaction set. In addition, CBP issued a CSMS message correcting and clarifying the Record Identifier SF30 within the Entry Summary - CATAIR transaction set.

2. CBP Reports Issue with ACE Reports

CBP has issued a CSMS message stating that ACE reports users may experience difficultly retrieving data in the ACE Reporting tool for data loaded before January 19, 2009. CBP was investigating the issue and estimated that data loaded before January 19, 2009, would be restored by 9:00 p.m. EDT on January 25, 2009. Data between January 19 and January 24, 2009 will still remain static for all ACE reports. CBP estimated that all data would be fully updated on January 27, 2009. 3. Guidance on e-Manifest, Entry Requirements when Multiple Shippers/ Consignees Involved

CBP has issued an ACE information notice providing clarification for truck carriers and customs brokers with regard to manifesting and entry requirements when multiple shippers and/or consignees are involved. 4. Various CPB Postings

Marijuana hidden in pasta shipment seized. CBP has issued a news release announcing that officers at the Laredo, Texas port of entry discovered and seized a shipment of pasta containing $1.5 million worth of marijuana. Border Patrol's Weekly Blotter. CBP posted the U.S. Border Patrol Weekly Blotter for January 15 - 21, 2009. The Blotter provides information on Border Patrol activities during the specified week. Paso Del Norte expansion to include SENTRI/dedicated commuter lane. CBP has issued a news release announcing that the renovated Paso Del Norte international crossing in downtown El Paso will include a pedestrian lane dedicated for use by border crossers enrolled in Secure Electronic Network for Traveler's Rapid Inspection (SENTRI) program when the remodeled facility opens later this year. The SENTRI program is commonly referred to as the Dedicated Commuter Lane or DCL in El Paso. Test ends, normal hours at Andrade Port of entry. CBP has issued a news release announcing that the Andrade, CA port of entry will return the hours of operation to 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. starting Monday, February 2, 2009. Statistics show that the earlier hours during the tested period were not justified as the port of entry did not attract enough commuter traffic from San Luis, Sonora, to Andrade to achieve the primary objective of effectively reducing wait times at the San Luis port and justify the operating costs. Washington creates customer service position. CBP has issued a news release announcing that it has implemented a passenger service manager program in Blaine, Washington to ensure the highest level of professionalism and increase customer service of arriving travelers. The antidumping and countervailing messages CBP issues on behalf of the International Trade Administration are now only available on CBP's Web site at http://addcvd.cbp.gov. AD and CV ABI administrative messages are no longer issued.
