(The A2.1 release will lay the groundwork for the future M1 release (Ocean and Rail e-Manifest), which is currently scheduled for deployment in the spring of 2009. CBP has previously stated that A2.1 will be implemented before or with M1.)
In addition, CBP has issued a CSMS message stating that certain ACE reports will remain static during January 19 - 24, 2009 as part of the deployment of the A2.1 capabilities, etc. (details below).
Highlights of the Enhancements to be Available
Features expected to be available with the deployment of the enhanced ACE capabilities within A2.1 (on January 24th) are as follows:
Users will have access to the new UN Loc Code tab, which allows users to search the United Nations Location Code file by Air Port Code, UN Location Code Name, Foreign Port Code and U.S. District Port Code. Click on the hyperlink to view additional location details.
When using reports, users will see a new Reference report folder which contains the MMM 6005 UN Location Code Report. This report is available to all ACE account types. The report uses the United Nations Location Codes to produce a report with physical location and attributes data for use on BAPLIE/Vessel Stowage Plan manifest transactions.
The log-on screen color will change from green to blue and white.
Cross account access (if applicable to the user) will now appear at the bottom of the ACE log-on screen.
When changing the Account Type, the user will need to click "Go" after selecting the new Account Type.
When selecting "Manage Access," "News," "References," or "Manifest" from the Action drop down, the user will be required to click "Go" to move to that screen.
When logging off, users will see the Security Alert pop up boxes appear twice. Simply select "Yes" then "OK" each time the boxes appear to sign off.
CBP states that more specific information on all enhancements will be available closer to deployment.
Certain ACE Reports to Remain Static between January 19th and 24th, Etc.
In addition, CBP has issued a CSMS message stating that that in order to accommodate additional reporting capabilities (such as those noted above), the A2.1/M1 release will require a more robust data warehouse. Accordingly, as part of the deployment of A2.1, the existing data warehouse information will be migrated to the new data warehouse.
To accomplish this, the following migration activities will occur:
Between January 19 and January 24, 2009, Account Management, Authorized Data Extract and Transactions reports will remain "static." No nightly updates will occur during this data migration. Transactions not posted to the data warehouse from January 19 through January 24 will then be loaded. CBP estimates that all data will be up-to-date on January 27, 2009.
Account Revenue reports will not be migrated until the afternoon of January 24, 2009. Only those reports generated up until the afternoon of January 24, 2009, will be up to date. Data in Account Revenue reports will then become static until the morning of January 25th.
CBP adds that a message will be posted to the ACE News Tab upon the conclusion of the migration and the completion of the reports data.
(See ITT's Online Archives or 07/28/08 news, 08072805, for M1, other ACE drops being delayed.)
