“Irregularly positioned wires near the computer’s hinge and/or a dislodged screw inside the hinge can cause a short circuit and overheating,” which “poses a burn hazard to consumers,” the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said. Sony has fielded 15 reports of overheating, including one involving a person with “a minor burn,” the commission said. Sony’s voluntary recall covers VGN-TZ100, VGN-TZ200, VGN- TZ300 and VGN-TZ2000 series models. Sony said it will “perform a free inspection and, if necessary, a repair.” - JB
