CBP has issued a notice stating that as the country of Ukraine became a World Trade Organization (WTO) member on May 16, 2008, wool apparel imports are no longer subject to quota monitoring. In addition, the filing of a quota-type entry for consumption or warehouse withdrawal is no longer required. 1. Ukraine Wool Apparel Imports No Longer Subject to Quota Monitoring
2. Weekly TRQ/TPL Commodity Report as of August 4, 2008
CBP has issued its weekly tariff rate quota and tariff preference level commodity report as of August 4, 2008. This report includes TRQs on various products such as beef, sugar, dairy products, peanuts, cotton, cocoa products, tobacco, certain BFTA, DR-CAFTA, Israel FTA, JFTA, MFTA, SFTA, UAFTA (AFTA) and UCFTA (Chile FTA) non-textile TRQs, etc. Each report also includes the AGOA, ATPDEA, BFTA, DR-CAFTA, CBTPA, Haitian HOPE, MFTA, NAFTA, SFTA, and UCFTA TPLs and TRQs for qualifying apparel and/or other textile articles, the TRQs on worsted wool fabrics, etc. (CBP's weekly TRQ/TPL commodity report available at http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/trade/trade_programs/textiles_and_quotas/commodity/)
3. CBP Issues Reminder on FDA Seminar in Raleigh, NC on Aug 6th
CBP has issued a CSMS message reminding the trade that on Wednesday, August 6, 2008, the FDA/Atlanta District will be conducting an OASIS/Product Code seminar in Raleigh, NC. There will be a morning session from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 and an afternoon session from 1:00 to 3:00.
