These draft transaction sets, which may contain new codes or data qualifiers, are posted for information purposes only and no programming/coding or redesign decisions should be made based on the two documents.
CBP adds that these draft sets should not be used in any data sets currently being sent to CBP via the Sea or Rail AMS (Automated Manifest System).
The draft M1 transactions sets are:
- CAMIR-Intermodal (Customs Automated Manifest Interface Requirements-Intermodal) (Amendment 11), and
- ANSI X.12 transaction sets (005040)
CBP will publish the final versions at a future date.
Trade Testing of M1 to Use Current Data Formats
CBP has previously noted that trade testing for M1 will begin no sooner than September 2008 and will be done using the current data formats, which are (1) the CAMIR-Intermodal (Amendment 13) or ANSI X.12 (version 4010) for ocean manifest and (2) the ANSI X.12 (version 4040 ) format for rail manifest.
CBP noted that it would be moving to ANSI X.12 Version 5040 after the initial implementation of M1 (M1 is scheduled to be deployed in October 2008). CBP sources also add that CAMIR-Intermodal (Amendment 11) was temporarily replaced by CAMIR-Intermodal (Amendment 13).
1M1 will be the first of the Multi Modal Manifest (MMM) releases to be deployed.
