Phase 1 is Deployed
According to CBP sources, this deployment is Phase 1 of the enhancement; Phase 2 will be deployed later this summer.
Description of Phases 1 and 2
CBP previously described the two phases as follows:
Phase 1 -will provide edit capabilities to all trade users and will include Account Revenue, Account Profile and Broker Permits and Employee reports.
This edit capability will allow the user to further customize a standard report by selecting additional data elements not currently available. Once Phase 1 has been implemented, users will no longer be able to use "Available Objects" to customize reports but will use the new "Edit Query" capability, etc.
Phase 2 - will allow selected trade users to design their own ad hoc reports. This phase will also include Account Management and Transactions reports.
(See ITT's Online Archives or 05/16/08 news, 08051610, for BP summary of the two phases.)
Telephone Training for Phase 1
According to CBP, training by telephone on the new edit capabilities for Phase 1 will be available to importer and broker ACE Accounts who participate in Periodic Monthly Statement and run the Account Revenue reports.
Telephone training will be held June 4 - 13, 2008 and is available on a first come, first service basis; registration is required. The registration form is available at http://www.cbp.gov/linkhandler/cgov/trade/automated/modernization/ace_welcome/ace_reports/ad_hoc_registration.ctt/ad_hoc_registration.pdf, and must be sent to CBP via email. CBP notes that only two phone lines per company per training session will be permitted.
For help with accessing or submitting the registration form, email CBP at aceaccountsupport@cbp.dhs.gov.
Java Requirement
ACE Accounts using these ad hoc reporting capabilities will need an appropriate version of Java to run ACE Reports - either Java 1.4.2, Java 1.5, or Java 6.
CBP recommends using version 1.4.2 or 1.5. CBP notes that the trade should consult their company system administrator prior to making any changes to their Java application.
