CBP CSMS Messages and Web Postings

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued a CSMS message advising the trade that the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) information displayed in the ACE Secure Data Portal is out of date, and will not be updated. The version listed is from July 2007. To obtain the most current HTS data, CBP directs the trade to the International Trade Commission's Web site: http://www.usitc.gov/tata/hts/. 2. ACE Trade Account Owner May 2008 Update

CBP has issued the May 2008 ACE Trade Account Owner monthly update as an attachment to an ACE Portal Accounts CSMS message. The update covers the following topics: the introduction of "ad hoc" reporting capabilities for ACE reports, the Help Desk now being referred to as the "Technology Support Center" (see below for details), CBP agreeing to carry over 24 "high priority" ACS edits in ACE, the denial of ACE Secure Data Portal access if the user has been inactive for more than 45 days; etc. (May 2008 TAO update available at http://apps.cbp.gov/csms/docs/17099_343972737/May_TAO_V7.pdf)

3. CBP Provides Phone Number for its New "Technology Support Center"

CBP has issued a CSMS message providing the new toll free number for its Technology Support Center (previously known as the Help Desk). Effective May 30, 2008, requests for ACE support from external trade clients, service centers, and Participating Government Agencies should be directed to 1-866-530-4172. Requests to the Help Desk's old numbers will be automatically redirected to the Technology Support Center. Issues of lesser importance may be reported via email to CBP.Technologu.Support@DHS.gov.
