The new report, identified as AR 007 Periodic Statement Detail, presents all periodic monthly statement data, periodic daily statement data and entry numbers in a single report.
Consolidates Importer/Broker Statements into One View
CBP states that this is the first ACE report to consolidate importer and broker statements into one view, which compiles periodic statement information and allows brokers to compare their records against CBP data.
(ACE Secure Data Portal users no longer have to search numerous periodic daily statements for entry numbers or run separate reports as an "importer" and "broker" in order to view periodic payment information for each statement type.)
Users Can Run the Report Based on Statement Status
CBP states that a valuable feature of the report provides portal users with the option of running the report based on statement status. The report can be run to see all statements, or portal users can choose to see only those statements that are unpaid and open, or paid and closed.
Initially, the report displays an overview of outstanding duties and fees as well as the total amount for each individual importer of record number. However, portal users can expand entry data to reveal a breakdown of individual fees, sorted by class code.
The report can be tailored to portal users' preferences by simply selecting additional data fields from a list and placing them into the report screen, making the report as specific as needed.
Accessing the Report
According to CBP, portal users can access the AR 007 Periodic Statement Detail report from the "Workflows" option in the ACE Secure Data Portal report tool. Running the report via the "Workflows" option allows each portal user to focus on the desired detail while eliminating the need to run multiple reports.
Report Created Based on Feedback from Brokers
CBP notes that it created this new report based on feedback from customs brokers that the new ACE report tool, deployed in late 2007, did not provide some of the capabilities offered by the previous report tool. In response, CBP worked with representatives from the brokerage community to develop a report that collects, simplifies and consolidates periodic statement data.
