1. CBP Updates Its ACE Application Form
The application has been updated to divide the subsection for cartman and lighterman account types on the form to make them each their own individual subsection. (Previously, there was only a combined "Cartman/Lighterman" subsection.) The updated application also includes boxes for cartman and lighterman to enter in specific data (e.g., identification numbers, travel documentation, etc.).

2. U.S./Mexico FAST Driver Applications Now Accepted Online via GOES
CBP has issued a news release announcing that U.S./Mexico Free and Secure Trade (FAST) applications are now accepted online through Global Online Enrollment System (GOES), accessible at CBP.gov.
According to CBP sources, CBP began accepting U.S./Mexico applications via GOES beginning April 15, 2008, and, as a result, is no longer accepting paper applications.
CBP adds that U.S./Canada FAST will also offer the GOES option by late summer 2008.
CBP has also recently posted the following FAST documents: U.S./Canada FAST Driver Application Instructions, U.S./Canada FAST Commercial Driver Guide, and U.S./Mexico FAST Driver Application Instructions in Spanish.

CBP announces change to Port of Entry hours of operation in NY. CBP has issued a news release announcing that the Border Inspection Stations at Churubusco, New York-Franklin Center, Quebec and Cannons Corners, New York-Cannons Corners, Quebec, will revise their hours of operation in accordance with the summer schedule. Effective May 1, 2008, the new business hours of operation at the aforementioned facilities will be 8 a.m to 12:00 a.m., until October 31, 2008.
