CBP CSMS Messages and Web Postings
U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued a news release announcing that the next phase of the CBP.gov Web site upgrade is to be launched April 4, 2008 and will feature new second-tier feature pages providing better display of information on CBP's major missions of border security, trade and travel, as well as CBP news and career information. This upgrade also will introduce a streamlined menu bar and footers, as well as more photos and graphics.

1. Next Upgrades to CBP's Web Site to be Launched on April 4th
(A new homepage was launched in January 2008 and since then many existing pages have been streamlined and reorganized in preparation for this phase II upgrade. See ITT's Online Archives or 01/28/08 news, 08012840 1, for BP summary announcing the launch of the first phase of the CBP.gov upgrade.)
New features coming with this phase include: consolidating import and export under a "Trade" top button, having the "Search" button provide a new link to archived CBP information, moving "Sitemap" to the footer of every page, etc.
CBP states that on the day of the launch, it will provide an article that will instruct users where major content sections can be found.

2. CBP Posts Summary of AESTIR Changes for March 20, 2008
CBP has posted a summary of changes to the Automated Export System Trade Interface Requirements (AESTIR) to its Web site, indicating that Version 1.0 was changed on March 20, 2008 as follows:
Appendix A - Commodity Filing Response Messages
Added a statement to the end of Response Code: 139, pertaining to Shipments destined to International Waters
Appendix E - Commodity Filing Export Information Codes and Reporting Guidelines
Added Export Info Code (EIC) "IW" (Shipments destined to International Waters)
Appendix F - License and License Exemption Type Codes and Reporting Guidelines
Allowed EIC "IW" added to License Codes C30, C32 and C33.

4. Miscellaneous CBP Messages on AD and CV Duty Actions
The antidumping and countervailing messages U.S. Customs Border and Protection issues on behalf of the International Trade Administration are now only available on CBP's Web site at http://addcvd.cbp.gov. AD and CV ABI administrative messages are no longer issued.
