(CBP previously issued an ABI CSMS message announcing the creation of the "ACE ABI CATAIR" document, which will include all of the Automated Broker Interface transactions required for filing entry summaries in the Automated Commercial Environment.
CBP has previously posted three chapters and two appendices to CBP's Web site and CBP stated that it would continue to build on this document until all ABI functionality is moved from the Automated Commercial System (ACS) to ACE and CBP can retire the current CATAIR document.)
To Date, Four Chapters & Two Appendices have been Posted
To date, CBP has posted the following chapters and appendices:
Census Warning Query (new). This chapter provides record layouts and processing information for ABI filers to query ACE entry summaries which contain unresolved Census warnings.
Census Warning Override. This chapter provides record formats and procedures for ACE ABI filers to submit override codes in response to Census warnings.
Entry Summary Filing and Response Guide. This chapter, which covers new application identifiers AE (inbound) and AX (outbound), provides record formats and processing instructions to submit entry summary and related information to ACE.
Entry Summary Status Notification. This chapter, which covers the new application identifier UC (outbound), explains that an Entry Summary Status Notification message is a new ABI response message generated from CBP ACE entry summary processing, from a CBP manual review of entry summary and related information, or from an action taken by CBP with agreement or request from the entry summary filer. This message will only be sent to ACE ABI filers for those entry summaries filed in ACE.
Appendix H - Census Warning Messages and Override Codes. This appendix provides a list of Census warning messages, the reasons a filer may receive the warning message, suggested options to resolve the warning, and override codes which may be used to respond to the warning.
Appendix Q - Record Layout Key. This appendix provides a record layout key for ACE ABI CATAIR chapters. It describes the columns of the record layout definitions contained in ACE ABI CATAIR chapters. CBP notes that this key is different from the record layout key for the current CATAIR document.
Chapters/Appendices are Considered Final
The chapters and appendices to the ACE ABI CATAIR include a note stating, "The reader should be advised that this technical document is considered final. However, the document retains the DRAFT designation in the footer until such time that a publication number from the CBP Office of Public Affairs has been assigned to the new "ACE ABI CATAIR" publication. For your information, subsequent revisions to this document will be controlled through the official CBP document amendment process."
