U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued an ABI administrative message announcing that the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) Help Desk's email address has been changed to ACEHELPDESK@cbp.dhs.gov.

1. ACE Help Desk Changes Its Email Address
CBP notes that the previous email address, ACE.HELPDESK@customs.treas.gov, is no longer valid.

2. CBP Posts Application Instructions for ACE Portal Accounts
CBP has posted application instructions for ACE portal accounts to its Web site.
(On September 9, 2007 CBP deployed Entry Summary, Accounts, and Revenue (ESAR) A1, which, among other things, increased the number of ACE portal account types from 3 to 11 and enhanced the existing ACE account types.)
This document covers instructions for those applying for the first time, as well as those with existing accounts that want to activate additional account types.

3. 2008 TRQ on Animal Feed Containing Milk/Derivatives Opens January 2
CBP has posted a notice announcing that the 2008 tariff rate quota on animal feed containing milk or milk derivatives as provided for in HTS Chapter 23, Additional U.S. Note 2 will open on Wednesday, January 2, 2008. The aggregate low-duty quantity is 7,399,700 kg and the below-listed countries have the following minimum access amounts:

Ireland | 5,470,323 kg |
New Zealand | 1,782,618 kg |
United Kingdom | 83,914 kg |

4. 2008 TRQ on Dried Milk and Dried Cream Opens January 2
CBP has posted a notice announcing that the 2008 TRQ for dried milk and dried cream as provided for in HTS Chapter 4, Additional U.S. Note 9 will open on Wednesday, January 2, 2008 with a low-duty quantity of 99,500 kg.

Counterfeit Microsoft keyboards seized. CBP has issued a press release announcing that officers and import specialists at the Savannah Port of Entry have seized over more than $100,000 in computer keyboards with counterfeit Microsoft "flag" logos. Opium seized at express consignment facility. CBP has issued a press release stating that officers at Louisville International Airport's United Parcel Services facility seized more than six kilograms of opium concealed in attach style bags.
