U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued its weekly tariff rate quota and tariff preference level commodity report as of November 19, 2007. This report includes TRQs on various products such as beef, sugar, dairy products, peanuts, cotton, cocoa products, tobacco, certain BFTA, DR-CAFTA, Israel FTA, JFTA, MFTA, SFTA, UAFTA (AFTA) and UCFTA (Chile FTA) non-textile TRQs, etc. Each report also includes the AGOA, ATPDEA, BFTA, DR-CAFTA, CBTPA, Haitian HOPE, MFTA, NAFTA, SFTA, and UCFTA TPLs and TRQs for qualifying apparel and/or other textile articles, the TRQs on worsted wool fabrics, etc. (CBP's weekly TRQ/TPL commodity report, dated 11/19/07, available at http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/import/textiles_and_quotas/commodity/)

ACE portal, PMS application information. CBP has posted information on how to apply to become an Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) portal account and instructions for importers who wish to participate in Periodic Monthly Statement (PMS) either by themselves or through their brokers. Additional ACE Exchange VIII presentation posted. CBP has posted an additional PowerPoint presentation for its ACE Exchange VIII conference that is scheduled for November 27-29, 2007 in San Francisco, CA. The presentation, entitled "Broker's Perspective," provides a broker's perspective to how ACE impacts business. Revenue processing procedural, technical information. CBP has posted revenue processing procedural and technical information to its Web site. The procedural information includes information on how an importer or broker can benefit from PMS; the technical information includes information for brokers and importers on revenue reports, EDI messages for PMS, and Value Added Networks. CBP to expand service at Calexico East. CBP has issued a press release stating that the Calexico East port of entry will open at 3 a.m. Mondays through Fridays, between November 26 and April 30, 2007 to facilitate the expected growth of vehicle and pedestrian traffic that annually occurs during the valley's agricultural harvest season. CBP to test expanded hours at El Paso SENTRI commuter lanes. CBP has issued a press release announcing that it will temporarily expand service hours at El Paso's two Secure Electronic Network for Travelers Rapid Inspection (SENTRI) locations starting November 10, 2007. The expanded service will be provided as a trial for 24 hours a day at the Ysleta crossing and until midnight daily at the Stanton Street crossing. Border Patrol opens new Marysville, MI station. CBP Detroit Border Patrol opened a new Marysville, Mich. Border Patrol Station. The new station replaced the old facility on River Road, called the Port Huron station, and is responsible for securing the international border along the St. Clair River, parts of Lake Huron and Lake St. Clair.
