CBP Announces November 27-29 ACE Exchange VIII Conference in San Francisco, CA

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has posted a notice to its Web site announcing that it will be holding the Automated Commercial Environment Exchange VIII conference in San Francisco, CA on November 27-29, 2007, the last ACE Exchange conference for 2007.

Conference Provides Trade Opportunity to Learn About/Provide Input on ACE

CBP states that the ACE Exchange VIII conference is an opportunity to discuss and give input on ACE, and learn about how it has helped companies comply with a new regulatory mandate. CBP notes that new ACE functionality was just released that benefits cartmen, lightermen, facility operators, foreign trade zone operators, sureties, software vendors, and service providers; and many regulatory and technical changes that will impact the business of importing goods into the U.S. are underway.

Attendees can sign up for account assistance, reports training, etc. The ACE Exchange will offer private appointments with CBP for ACE account assistance, reports training, or other ACE related issues. CBP notes that these appointments are reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis and only one session is permitted per company.

CBP has previously explained that ACE is the new U.S. trade processing system designed to consolidate and automate border processing. It will eventually replace the Automated Commercial System (ACS) as the cargo processing system of record for CBP.
