U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued a notice announcing that in order to prepare for the new capabilities that are coming with the deployment of Entry Summary, Accounts, and Revenue (ESAR) A1, the ACE Account Services Desk (ASD) staff is preparing to help both new account holders and existing ACE users with expanded account management capabilities. In anticipation of increased customer inquiries, CBP is increasing ASD staff levels and will continue to provide customer support service 24 hours, seven days a week. 1. ACE Account Desk Prepares for New Users, New Capabilities

2. Temporary Expansion of Port of Santa Teresa's Cargo Service Hours

CBP has issued a news release announcing that CBP officers at the Santa Teresa, NM port of entry commercial cargo facility will be providing an additional 20 hours of service per week to the international trade community beginning Monday, September 3, 2007. CBP adds that officials working at the adjacent San Jeronimo facility in Mexico will also increase their level of service by adopting the expanded hours of operation. CBP notes that this expansion is temporary and part of a six-month test. Under the test, the two cargo facilities will remain open until 10 p.m. Monday through Friday. The cargo facilities are currently open from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday. CBP has updated the following chapters of its "Laboratory Methods" Guide: 4, 7-9, 11, 12, 15, 17-22, 24-35, 38-42, 44, 47-64, 67-76, 78-81, 85, and 87. FY 2007 Byrd Amendment certifications report. CBP has posted its fiscal year 2007 Byrd Amendment (aka the Continued Dumping and Subsidy Offset Act of 2000 (CDSOA)) certifications report. This report provides information on the claimant name, case name, and case number. Secure Border Initiative Monthly newsletter. CBP has posted the August 2007 issue of its Secure Border Initiative Monthly newsletter. CBP intercepts nearly $1 million in counterfeit products. CBP has issued a news release announcing that CBP has seized approximately $1 million in counterfeit wallets, luggage and cell phone accessories bearing the trademarks for "Harley Davidson," "Reiko" and "Bonjour" entering the U.S. at the Savannah port of entry.
