COAC to Meet on August 16, 2007 in Washington, DC

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued a notice announcing that the next meeting of the Departmental Advisory Committee on Commercial Operations of Customs and Border Protection and Related Homeland Security Functions (COAC)1 will be held on August 16, 2007 in Washington, DC.

According to CBP, the following is a tentative agenda for the August 16, 2007 meeting:

  • International Container Security Standards
  • Post-Incident Trade Resumption
  • Advance Data Elements (Security Filing, also known as 102)
  • Secure Freight Initiative (SFI)/Supply Chain Security
  • Office of International Trade
  • Intellectual Property Rights
  • Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) Program

Deadline for Written Material/Comments, Requests to Have Material Distributed

According to CBP, written material and comments are due by August 6, 2007. Requests to have a copy of material distributed to each member of the committee prior to the meeting are due by August 9, 2007. (CBP sources state that the public (as well as COAC members) can submit comments and materials.)
