NCAP/FAST release bar code specifications. CBP has posted a document that provides instructions for carriers, software providers, and other interested trade community partners on how to prepare a back-up barcode sheet for National Customs Automation Program (NCAP)/ Free and Secure Trade (FAST) shipments, as well as a sample NCAP/FAST barcode sheet. CBP requested to review/respond to immigration reimbursable services issue. CBP has posted a notice announcing that it has been requested that CBP review and respond to the issue of immigration reimbursable services. Specifically, the industry has expressed concern regarding the delayed action by CBP to issue bills and collect unpaid costs for inspectional services performed at their request. Detroit CBP seizes purses for trademark violation, fines importer. CBP has issued a press release announcing that CBP port officers in Detroit completed a seizure of 9,017 purses due to trademark violations. CBP initiated seizure of all the bags for intellectual property rights (IPR) violation and issued an IPR penalty of $2,930,525 against the importer of record.
