CBP Administrative Messages, Web Postings, Etc.

CBP has issued an ABI administrative message announcing that the final version of the Customs and Trade Automated Interface Requirements (CATAIR) "TI" chapter (CBP Form 5106 add/update) will be included in the on-line CATAIR. No changes were made since the draft chapter was posted to the CBP Web site on February 15, 2007. 1. Final Version of CATAIR Chapter "TI" (5106) Will be Included in the On-Line CATAIR

As noted in a previous ABI message (Adm: 07-0104, dated 05/02/07), this new functionality will be deployed on August 11, 2007. (See ITT's Online Archives or 05/08/07 news, 07050805, for BP summary of the admin message, which announced that ACE Entry Summary, Accounts, and Revenue (ESAR) A1 was scheduled to be deployed August 11 and that two ABI messages would be affected (KI and TI).)

CBP has posted a document that provides information and frequently asked questions regarding the Outlying Area Reporting Station (OARS) that has been developed as an alternative to the Canadian Border Boat Landing Program (commonly known as the I-68 program). The OARS program uses videophones, typically located at public marinas, which boaters may use to report to CBP officers. Info., FAQs on I-68 program. CBP has posted a document that provides information and FAQs on the Canadian Border Boat Landing (I-68) Program. The I-68 program is an alternative to the in person reporting requirement and allows certain applicants entering the U.S. by small boat to telephonically report their arrival to CBP after an initial inspection. Traveler awareness campaign kicks off at LAX. CBP has issued a press release announcing that on May 22, 2007, it joined the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) in launching the "Know Before You Go" and "Know Before You Visit" traveler awareness campaign to kickoff the busy summer travel season.
