CBP has issued its weekly tariff rate quota and tariff preference level commodity report as of May 21, 2007. This report includes TRQs on various products such as beef, tuna, sugar, dairy products, peanuts, cotton, cocoa powder, tobacco, certain BFTA, CAFTA-DR, JFTA, MFTA, NAFTA, SFTA, UAFTA (AFTA) and UCFTA (Chile FTA) non-textile TRQs, etc. Each report also includes the AGOA, ATPDEA, BFTA, CAFTA-DR, CBTPA, MFTA, NAFTA, SFTA, and UCFTA (Chile FTA) TPLs and TRQs for qualifying apparel and/or other textile articles, the TRQs on worsted wool fabrics, etc. (CBP's weekly TRQ/TPL commodity report, dated 05/21/07, available at http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/import/textiles_and_quotas/commodity/)

2. CBP Posts Scheduled Dates for Mandatory e-Manifest Deployment
CBP has posted to its Web site a table providing the scheduled dates for deployment of mandatory electronic truck manifests for advance cargo information purposes. The table provides the group of ports, the date of the Federal Register notice announcing the mandatory use of e-Manifest: Trucks, and the dates for Phases 1-3 of the phased enforcement. Note that mandatory e-Manifest for groups 6 and 7 (Maine, Minnesota, and Alaska) has not been announced via a Federal Register notice and is therefore marked "TBD" (to be determined). Deputy Commissioner Spero to retire in August. CBP has posted a letter to its Web site stating that Deputy Commissioner Deborah Spero has decided to retire from federal service in August 2007. e-Manifest compliance rates continue to grow. CBP has posted a notice announcing that as CBP continues to expand a new policy requiring the mandatory filing of electronic truck manifests for advance cargo information purposes, more carriers are beginning to use e-Manifest: Truck in preparation for the mandatory policy. CBP attributes the rise in e-Manifests to joint Government-industry efforts to educate the trade community about the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) and prepare carriers for the shift to mandatory e-Manifest filing. SENTRI application via GOES FAQ posted. CBP has posted a frequently asked question (FAQ) document on the Secure Electronic Network Traveler Rapid Inspection (SENTRI) application via CBP's Global Online Enrollment System (GOES). Reminder to Gulf Coast boaters on pleasure boat reporting requirements. CBP has issued a press release reminding Gulf Coast boaters of procedures for small boats arriving in the U.S. from foreign waters. The instructions provided in the press release are specifically for vessels such as pleasure boats and yachts-regardless of size and country of registration-that are not engaged in trade, or carrying merchandise or passengers for hire. CBP to staff marinas in South Florida on Memorial Day. CBP has issued a press release announcing that it will deploy teams of officers to specific marinas during the busy Memorial Day weekend to process small vessel arrivals, including in-person immigration clearances.
