Account Holders Can Customize Reports Based on Their Business Needs
CBP states that with this new ACE reporting tool, account holders can customize the reports based on their business needs. CBP explains that users can sort data, create charts and tables for insertion into a report, export and print the report in a variety of formats, and generate snapshots, or "quick views," that show total entries, import values, and duties for an account, organized by calendar year or fiscal year.
Scheduled Reports Can Be Automatically Delivered to New Electronic Mailbox within ACE Portal
According to CBP, the ACE reporting tool also will allow account holders to schedule the system to run the reports of their choice and automatically deliver them to a new electronic mail inbox within the ACE portal. An account holder will be able to log into the ACE Secure Data Portal, view a list of available reports and schedule the creation of a specific report (whether it be daily, weekly, or monthly), as well as specify both the format of the report and when ACE should begin generating it.
(CBP had previously stated that this reporting tool was expected to be activated in the first quarter of 2007 and would make ACE reports more user friendly and provide a foundation for enhanced capabilities. CBP had noted that an Authorized Data Extract (formerly known as Bulk Data Download) was expected to become available in the second quarter of 2007, which will enable ACE users to download large amounts of data for reporting or analytical purposes.
CBP had also stated that for five months, both the current and new reporting tools would be available while users make the transition. All reports would then be converted at one time. BP is checking on this point and will update readers when additional information is available. See ITT's Online Archives or 02/14/07 news, 07021410, for previous BP summary on the new ACE reporting tool.)
CBP states that for more information on this new ACE reporting tool, interested parties should go to CBP's ACE Web-based training (http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/toolbox/about/modernization/), which includes a section entitled "ACE Reports for the Trade Community."
