The Journal of Commerce reports that Michael Laden, former executive with Target Corp., says C-TPAT has not delivered on its promise of expedited trade, as the three benefit tiers do not have bright lines of distinction among them. 2. CBP Re-Accredits/Re-Approves Texas Company as Commercial Gauger & Laboratory

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has issued a notice stating that it has re-accredited and re-approved Laboratory Service, Inc., of Seabrook, Texas, as a commercial gauger and laboratory, effective February 18, 2005. CBP adds that the next triennial inspection date will be scheduled for February 2008. CBP has issued a notice stating that it has re-accredited and re-approved Intertek Testing Service/Caleb Brett, of Tampa, Florida, as a commercial gauger and laboratory, effective May 24, 2006. 4. BIS' MPETAC to Hold Open Meeting on March 8, 2007

The Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) has issued a notice announcing that the Materials Processing Equipment Technical Advisory Committee (MPETAC) will hold an open meeting on March 8, 2007 in Washington, DC.
