U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) posted an administrative message on February 13, 2007 stating that the port of St. Louis was closed due to limited broker activity and inclement weather. However, CBP stated that it would continue clearance of international flights. 2. Weekly TRQ/TPL Commodity Report as of February 12, 2007
CBP has issued its weekly tariff rate quota (TRQ)/tariff preference level (TPL) commodity report as of February 12, 2007. This report includes TRQs on various products such as beef, tuna, sugar, dairy products, peanuts, cotton, cocoa powder, tobacco, certain BFTA, CAFTA-DR, JFTA, MFTA, NAFTA, SFTA, UAFTA (AFTA) and UCFTA (Chile FTA) non-textile TRQs, etc. Each report also includes the AGOA, ATPDEA, BFTA, CAFTA-DR, CBTPA, MFTA, NAFTA, SFTA, and UCFTA (Chile FTA) TPLs and TRQs for qualifying apparel and/or other textile articles, the TRQs on worsted wool fabrics, etc. (CBP's weekly TRQ/TPL commodity report, dated 02/12/07, available at http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/import/textiles_and_quotas/commodity/)
3. CBP Reminds ABI Programmers About Change in Daylight Savings Time
CBP has issued an ABI administrative message reminding ABI programmers of a upcoming change in daylight savings time (DST) observance beginning in 2007. The Energy Policy Act of 2005 mandates that DST start on the second Sunday in March and end on the first Sunday in November. In 2007, the start and stop dates for DST will be March 11, 2007 and November 4, 2007, respectively. Air APIS guide. CBP has posed a guide on its Advance Passenger Information System (APIS). This guide provides information on APIS manifest completeness, manifest timeliness, data element errors, validation rule errors, and how CBP calculates APIS manifest sufficiency rates. NEXUS fact sheet. President expresses appreciation to CBP. CBP has posted a press release which states that on February 8, 2007, President Bush thanked CBP and other Department of Homeland Security (DHS) components after attending a DHS briefing. Entry Summary, Accounts, and Revenue (ESAR) technical changes spreadsheet. CBP has posted a spreadsheet used to track the completion of new ABI transactions and the potential changes to existing transactions. The spreadsheet is intended to provide planning support to members of the trade community as they prepare to enhance and modify their systems. The spreadsheet contains information about the affected ABI application, the record level, the record identifier, a brief description and a notation regarding whether the change would be required during the initial deployment of ACE.
